  • Description

Casa Capuchin is a modern, three level, 4 bedroom, 4-1/2 bath home perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, tucked into lush tropical jungle. The moment you walk in the door your eyes are drawn to the endless postcard views of the ocean and the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park.

Located on Pacific Canyon Drive, one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Manuel Antonio, the villa is just a 5 minute drive from the beaches and the world famous national park. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance and a wide selection of activities that are conveniently close by.

This picturesque villa has a state of the art design that maximizes the positive effects of living by the sea. Its high ceilings and open floor plan facing the ocean allow you to fully immerse yourself in your environment, enhancing your enjoyment of the tropics.

Much less visible but just as important are the 67 roof mounted solar panels. On average they generate more than enough electricity to run the entire house making your stay with us a “green” and sustainable one. Additionally, any excess energy is pushed out to the grid where it is used by other consumers that might otherwise be using carbon generated power. We are proud to be the first house in the Manuel Antonio area with this capability thus contributing to Costa Rica's goal of achieving carbon neutrality.

The villa is equipped with all the amenities to ensure your comfort, allowing you to savor your surroundings. It can accommodate 10 guests in the 4 bedrooms and is ideal for families, honeymooners, couples, and groups of friends.

The two upper level bedrooms have king size beds and breathtaking ocean views. The lower level bedroom has a queen size bed, a twin bed and a private balcony with jungle views. The 4th guest bedroom (located off an internal courtyard) has a queen size bed and a loft sitting area with jungle and partial ocean views. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have private baths.

The open air living area is perfect for lounging and dining with plenty of ceiling fans and an ocean breeze to keep you cool throughout your day. It also allows you to easily observe the local wildlife as they go about their daily routine. Three species of monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas and geckos often pass by providing entertainment, educational and photographic opportunities.

The kitchen is stocked with modern appliances. A private chef can be provided upon request, and don't worry about the dishes as daily (excluding Sunday) maid service is included.

Your concierge can help you with transportation, tour reservations, activities, restaurants and recommendations for the best places to shop for souvenirs, beachwear, groceries and more.

Come enjoy Casa Capuchin and immerse yourself in the absolute expression of tropical luxury. Call us today to start planning your ultimate escape to paradise and let us make your vacation a truly memorable experience.

Casa Capuchin is a smoke free home - smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. No pets allowed. Child Friendly - Ask

Casa Capuchin is an amazing place to find peace amongst nature. Not only is the house beautiful but the area is very secure and the view...pictures just don't do it any justice. It was enjoyable for our whole group which included young children and their grandparents. We interacted with 3 types of monkeys, we saw sloths, toucans, beautiful birds and every sound nature has to offer. The staff was superb, especially Ms. Desenia the housekeeper. She is so nice and attentive that you feel right at home. Alex was very helpful and kind. The restaurants and activities in the area are great. I have absolute nothing negative to say and we will be going back soon.

Our family of four enjoyed a week at this incredible property. As we arrived, Alex was there to greet us, saying "welcome home" with a big inviting smile. Alex was extremely helpful from explaining details for the grill, kitchen, alarm and house music system. He even took care of ordering grocery delivery services, to navigating and coordinating excursions. We stayed during rainy season and the first night the power went out intermittently. Without hesitation Alex had extra candles delivered though we didn't end up needing them. Yesenia was wonderful and kept everything clean and tidy. We didn't talk much but her efforts weren't overlooked. The details from pretty towel animals in the rooms for decoration to organizing the items in the refrigerator and providing laundry services. I'm telling you, this was a vacation of perfection!! Alex checked in on us frequently making sure we were comfortable and enjoying the stay in Costa Rica. The indoor/outdoor living situation exposed us to some insects in the evenings but we had repellent incense sticks which worked great. It was something we had to adjust for but was like a dream being able to enjoy the climate and nature while relaxing in the living space. Again, I feel inclined to state just how amazing the views are and from every room!! I can't say enough good things, book this house, you won't be dissatisfied!! Pura Vida!

    • Excellent location!! Beautiful home!!!

Reviewed by Ryan M. on April 18, 2017 for their trip during April 2017

We were a family of 10 with age range from 5 to 70. We stayed one week for Easter. The location is perfect, within walking distance to groceries and good quality restaurants. The home itself is perfect for large and small families alike. All four bedrooms are clean with good furnishings and comforts. The two bedrooms on the top have absolutely amazing views. The third bedroom is one floor below the common area, and has very convenient smaller beds that makes the room perfect for couples with children (where my wife and 5 and 7yo stayed). The bottom room has tons of privacy, and a neat set up with the bed in a loft, and the bottom with a small living space. The common area was a unique retreat with an open air plan, perfect views, clean modern floors and furnishings, and plenty of space. The house keeping was amazing, she was incredibly helpful and courteous, and left our home spotless every day. Our property manager was also very helpful with both the check in and check out, and he was very quick to respond and help with making reservations for both dinner and activities. We had wildlife visit us every single day. We saw more Howler monkeys, Capuchins, squirrel monkeys and Toucans quite frankly at the house than we did visiting the national park! The walk to the beach is not that bad for the physically able. It is a 20-30minute walk to the quiet end of the beach, or if you are renting a car, you can easily drive down and park right on the beach with 4WD. The only big consideration people should take (and this is not a criticism) is safety if they are coming with young children. We had a 5 and 7yo, and we did fine. But the stairs do not have child safe railings. It was ok, because we just set rules for them to only go downstairs alone, and upstairs with a grownup. And the balconies are secured as seen on photos with the frame and steel cables with about 1 foot space. Again, with proper supervision and good kids, this is a great home, but this is not the right home for a nine month old to crawl around with you minding the kitchen. If you are concerned, talk to the property manager first before booking. If very young children are not a concern for your family, then by all means book without hesitation! You will not regret it!!

We were treated with a very high level of care and concern. Our manager (Alex) was most responsive to calls, emails, requests for cabs and trip/tours etc and always available to us. He provided us an excellent group of drivers and helpful places to shop and sight see. He was very knowledgeable of the area and resources. I would recommend him highly, in fact, only book a home that he is responsible for. Our maid (Dessi) also needs to be commended for keeping the place so neat, tidy, clean and she was very friendly. The animal towels were also a big hit. Thanks to you all, for a great vacation and wonderful holiday, we can not thank you enough.

My family of 8 stayed in the Casa Capuchin in March, 2016. We were a bit nervous, because we had never rented out of the country. This house is everything and more as described. We had a wonderful time and Alex was so very attentive to our needs. We missed our plane flight and he arranged to have everyone picked up and cars delivered to the house. When you walk in the door , you feel as if you are on a scenic overlook of the most spectacular scene that you could ever see. The house has a wonderful maid service, is ultra comfortable, and is in a great location. You can walk to all the restaurants. The beach needs to be driven particularly when it is hot, however there is an easy bus that you can catch. The monkeys visited us for sure and we heard howling monkeys as well. We would love to come back!

Owner Response: We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Casa Capuchin. We never get tired of that spectacular view and the monkeys that stop by often. Sounds like you enjoyed those things too. We also agree that Alex and Yesenia are amazing and always seem to go above and beyond in everything they do. We hope you return to Costa Rica and when you do you come back to Casa Capuchin.

Waking up each morning to a spectacular view of the Pacific would normally be hard to beat, but the comfort of the home and the complete service offered by the house manager, Alex, competed well. Alex took care of every need we had from scheduling excursions to arranging meals to coordinating the staff that kept the house immaculate; Alex was a great resource for our first venture to Costa Rica. The house is well situtuated for an easy walk to many restuarants, a grocery store, a yoga studio and a bank; we rarely had to venture much further if we did not want to do so. The monkeys did come and the sunsets were brochure worthy. My wife, four kids, Mom, neice and I were very comfortable in the house with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy a very restful vacation. Best house ever.

Owner Response: We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at Casa Capuchin. You listed all of the things that we think make this place great...the view, the monkeys visiting and the easy access to restaurants and amenities. Alex and Yesenia are wonderful assets and we are grateful to have them as a part of our team. We hope you think of Casa Capuchin should your future plans bring you back to Costa Rica.

    • Phenomenal Vacation at a spectacular location

Reviewed by fish007 from London, Canada on February 26, 2014 for their trip during February 2014

We were a family of 8 travelling from Canada... 4 daughters aged 12 to 23, son-in-law and boyfriend, plus my wife and I. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The listing was not accurate....because the pictures don't do it justice! Unbelievable size, layout, comfort, etc. and what a view. The monkeys came by most days and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We were very comfortable with 8 people ...and there was room for more. Alex is excellent in his organizing of all our activities. We tried the horse back riding, repelling, national park tour and catamaran sail. All highly recommended. He organizes for pick up and drop off at the front door. Local restaurants were excellent too. Although cab drivers told us the walk to the beach was either "too long or too dangerous (due to traffic)", we walked it every day without problem. It was a great way to get some exercise after spending a day at the beach. Another thing Alex did was organize an on-site meal provided by a local chef (Kukula?). It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we do a lot of travelling. We didn't rent a car, as the local grocery store was within walking distance, as were the restaurants, and we didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the beach. We flew to San Jose, and Alex organized the 2 1/2 trip for pick up and drop off at the end of the stay. The house was cleaned every day (we didn't realize that), and there are laundry facilities on site. We definitely over-packed. This is a flip flop and short/swim suit vacation. We didn't need to wear a sweater at any time during our stay. We will go back and I recommend this for families, couples, etc. The only caution I would have is for those with small children. The building code is no where near the restrictions that we have in Canada, and as such, the area around the main floor, infinity pool and stairs may be a safety hazard for small children. For adults, it adds to the beauty of this spectacular place! A+++++ and a 12 on a 1-10 scale. Truly spectatular.

This is the place to be if you are looking for a good stay while in Manuel Antonio. We had a wonderful ocean view, sat in infinity pool in the afternoon to look out over the forest/ocean and enjoyed music using the surround sound speakers installed throughout the villa. There were multiple restaurants within walking distance, or sometime when we felt like cooking in, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances and even an outdoor grill. I would highly recommend Casa Capuchin!!

I want to personally thank Alex for convincing me to rent this home for my family's 4 night stay in Manuel Antonio. Im not an easy person to please and Im very hard at trusting people. Put your worries aside, Alex is a good person, very trustful and he will do anything to make sure you had a great time in his neck of the woods and is willing to help you out and save you some money on tours etc. If I had known that prior to making reservations with other tour companies I would have canceld and booked with him. His rates for the same places were less... OK, the house.. It is exactly what you see in the pics. The house is truely a beautiful house on a beutiful piece of real estate. The views of the ocean and the open air feel that this place has is amazing! The open part of the house is not AC'd and can get a bit warm but I live in Florida and it didn't bother us. The pool was right there too cool us off and the rooms have there own AC and you can set it to what ever temp you like. If you want to freeze your buns off, you can. Those suckers work great!!! I will tell you that the second Alex handed us the keys and we opened the door we were not let down at all. The kids ran around to pick out there rooms and jumped right in the pool. Alex told us to be careful leaving any fruit or eggs out because the monkees would come and take them. I said really? Who leaves eggs out any way! Well once he told me that I got the hint and went out and bought 4 dozen eggs.. The monkees come twice a day, once in the morning around 9ish and the other between 5 and 7pm. These little monkees were a delight. We were able to hand feed them and yes, they are wild monkees. I would say that if I were to go to this part of the country again, I know exactly who I would call to book a house or acomidations. This house and the area around it will not let you down. PS. the house is about a block or two off the main street. You have to drive down a non paved road but its safe and a very short drive, 1 minute off the main street and your there. If you've ever driven in Costa Rica you would be accustomed to this, nothing that will keep you from renting the home.. ITs a beautiful home!!!

My family and I stayed at Casa Capuchin over our Spring Break in March 2012. It was simply amazing. The house and its unique design put you above the jungle canopy and right in the middle of an abundance of wildlife. The modern and ultra-open layout of Casa Capuchin gives you the feeling of camping outdoors, while living in luxury. The Manuel Antonio area is an animal-filled paradise, offering up an endless supply of animal sightings, and if you stay in Casa Capuchin, you don’t even have to leave your living room to experience the wildlife. We had daily visits from the monkeys, and there was a baby sloth nestled in a tree right outside our front door. We also had nightly visits from the rarely seen kinkajou. Alexander took care of all our needs and set us up with some exciting excursions. We did a little of everything including zip lining, white water river rafting, a mangrove tour and, of course, a guided tour of the park. A wonderful secluded beach and bath- water warm ocean play is just a short drive away. We had so much fun at Casa Capuchin that we plan on returning.
